Dr. Simon Bredl won the UZH Entrepreneur Fellowship and joined the UZH IncubatorLab in March 2022. Simon will focus on the development of gene-engineered macrophage-based adoptive cell therapy for triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC).
More specifically, he will develop gene-engineered macrophages, which will penetrate into the tumor microenvironment (TME) where they eliminate the TNBC cells, reverse the immunosupressive properties of the TME and induce an immune response directed against the tumor and its metastases.
Simon is a Research Associate in the Clinic for Infectious Diseases and Hospital Hygiene at USZ.
